At Noah Kahan’s Benefit Concert in Essex, Vermont, Ben & Jerry’s unveiled an exclusive limited-edition flavor: Northern Latte-tude. This Maple Latte Ice Cream with Graham Cracker Cookie Dough and Pieces was created in collaboration with Kahan and Ben & Jerry’s Flavor Gurus, inspired by Kahan’s Vermont roots and his hit song “Northern Attitude.”

The flavor, created specifically for the concert, aimed to raise funds for Kahan’s mental health initiative, The Busyhead Project, which supports mental health awareness and resources. The event raised over $15,000. “We were thrilled to partner with Noah to create this flavor,” said Emily Smith, Ben & Jerry’s Head of Brand Innovation. As cooler temperatures set in and families settle into fall routines, many Americans are opting to stay in and cook more at home. In fact, 1 in 3 adults plan to dine out less in the next six months. With at-home cooking on the rise, Beef. It’s What’s For Dinner., funded by the Beef Checkoff, teamed up with Pitmaster Erica Roby to share her favorite comfort recipes with a twist.

Nearly 90 million U.S. households include pets, and PetSmart Charities® estimates that 30 million pets live in homes facing food insecurity. On Pet Hunger Awareness Day® (Sept. 24), PetSmart Charities will partner with Feeding America® to raise awareness about pet hunger, helping both pets and their owners. Volunteers nationwide will distribute pet food donated by PetSmart Charities at select Feeding America partner food banks.

Feeding America reports that 1 in 6 people seek assistance from food pantries. On Sept. 24, pet parents can pick up food for themselves and their pets at participating food banks in cities like Detroit, El Paso, and New York. PetSmart Charities has delivered more than 350 million pet meals in partnership with Feeding America and Meals on Wheels America.

The PetSmart Charities and Feeding America partnership has provided over 66 million pounds of pet food since 2017. Additionally, their work with Meals on Wheels has delivered 13 million pet meals to seniors, ensuring older adults can stay with their pets.

PetSmart Charities encourages all social service agencies to consider adding pet services. Through donations, Alphia is matching contributions to PetSmartCharities.org up to $40,000 until Sept. 30.

Organic Valley, the leading farmer-owned organic cooperative, has unveiled an innovative new way to create ads: cows grazing pasture to spell out letters. Cows on three Organic Valley farms across the country are eating pasture grasses around strategically placed fences that form the word “BUZZ-WORTHY” and an emoji-like bee. The ads are eye-catching, environmentally friendly and beneficial for the ecosystem. They provide habitat for pollinators, such as honeybees, and prevent soil erosion and water runoff. All materials from the zero-waste ads are reused as feed or fencing.

The Greenest Ads are the result of a collaboration between Organic Valley farmers, their cows, and a team of experts in grazing, fencing and aerial photography. Organic Valley designed the ads to catch the attention of passengers flying over the farms and to spark curiosity about the organic practices that protect the environment and produce high-quality dairy products.

“I love talking about how buzz-worthy organic farming is, but seeing life in those letters, seeing monarchs and other wildlife in the field, that’s really special,” said Melissa Weyland, an Organic Valley farmer from Wisconsin.

The Greenest Ads can be seen from planes flying over farms in MarylandMinnesota and Wisconsin, as well as on social media. Organic Valley has also created a landing page on its website, where visitors can learn more about the campaign, the farmers and the environmental benefits of organic farming. The campaign will run until the end of October, when the pasture season ends.

Organic Valley is also drawing attention to pastures and small family farm perseverance by sponsoring Farm Aid 2024 in Saratoga Springs, New YorkSept. 21. This collaboration draws attention to the challenges faced by small farmers and celebrates their resilience and dedication to providing high-quality organic food.
