Oceania Cruises®, the world’s leading culinary- and destination-focused cruise line, is offering more than a dozen immersive explorations of Alaska in 2025, taking travelers beyond typical tourist sights to discover the unique perspectives, local culture, soaring glaciers, and pristine wilderness of “The Last Frontier.” An Oceania Cruises first, the 1,250-guest Riviera™ will sail her first season in Alaska making her the first and only cruise ship in the region designed for foodies, by foodies, where travelers will enjoy the best of the 49th state, paired with the Riviera’s luxurious small-ship ambiance and myriad of gourmet culinary experiences.

The 2025 Alaska season takes place from May through September, offering a variety of itineraries ranging from seven to 12 days that depart from SeattleVancouver, and Whittier. Each itinerary features both lesser-known and iconic ports such as HomerSitka, and Juneau, giving travelers plentiful opportunities to engage with the destination on an entirely new level through Native tribe site visits, national park excursions, wildlife encounters, and more. Each sailing also features a naturalist on board to offer expert insights into the incredible biodiversity of Alaska, covering everything from whales to bears and seals.

“We’re thrilled to bring our 1,250-guest Riviera to Alaska for the very first time,” said Frank A. Del Rio, President of Oceania Cruises. “Our elegant, ultra-premium small-ship experience offers the perfect juxtaposition to Alaska’s outdoor adventures, and with Riviera being 30 to 50 percent smaller than other premium cruise lines sailing in the region, we’re able to bring our guests to lesser-known, more remote ports, for a true immersion into this fascinating destination.”

The timeless allure of Alaska means it is a perfect destination for multi-generational gatherings; teens, parents, and grandparents alike will marvel at the majesty of the landscape and the amazing wildlife. Oceania Cruises’ popular Alaska Explorer Youth Program is available on all voyages in the region in 2025. Designed for children between the ages of 5 to 12 years old, the program will include engaging games, activities, and Alaska-inspired special events, where young adventurers will be supervised by experienced and enthusiastic youth counselors.

To further enhance Oceania Cruises’ robust cruise itineraries, guests have the option to include a pre- or post-cruise land program where they’ll have the opportunity to explore even more of Alaska. Among the land programs offered is Discover Denali, where travelers will enjoy one show-stopping vista after another, including North America’s highest peak, while exploring Denali National Park, the first national park created specifically to protect wildlife.

Covering a mind-blowing six million acres, Denali offers true insight into the 49th state. With over two full days in the park, Oceania Cruises’ guests will revel in a fully escorted experience including travel by domed railcar and along scenic byways through the iconic wilds of Alaska. Wildlife-spotting opportunities abound – including bald eagles, caribou, and Dall sheep – alongside marveling at glacial-fed rivers and the chance to see the original ranger’s cabin, once the only outpost in the vast park. The four day / three night program also features an Alaskan Native presentation on the history of the land and a natural history tour.

Shipboard Highlights of Riviera – The Only True Foodie Ship in Alaska

The beautifully reinspired 1,250-guest Riviera offers an unparalleled experience to curious world travelers. Guests will enjoy incredibly spacious standard staterooms measuring an astounding 291 square feet, with all categories of staterooms having been stunningly reimagined with luxurious furnishings, thoughtful design touches, and larger showers. Riviera is the only true foodie ship sailing in Alaska, boasting one chef for every 10 guests and seven open-seating gourmet restaurants including the four always included specialty dining venues: the Polo Grill Steakhouse; Italian Toscana; Asian-fusion Red Ginger; and French restaurant, Jacques.

In addition, Oceania Cruises incorporates the culinary scene of The Last Frontier into its guest experience through new hands-on cooking classes in The Culinary Center and the Chef’s Market Dinners in the Terrace Café curated by the onboard culinary team using fresh, local ingredients from the region.

This year’s flu season is right around the corner, and according to the CDC, this year’s strain is predicted to be as bad as last season. Leading travel insurance comparison company, Squaremouth, explains how the flu is covered by travel insurance.

According to Squaremouth data, 64% of travelers claim their biggest travel concern is getting sick before or during their trip. To be able to cancel or end a trip early and be paid back travel expenses, travelers need to have a policy in place before getting sick. If a traveler is already sick with the flu, it’s too late for insurance.

    Too Sick to Travel
If you get the flu before your trip and are too sick to travel, you can be covered to cancel your trip under the Trip Cancellation benefit. A doctor’s note or medical records showing that the traveler is too sick to travel will be required when making a claim.

Travel Companion or Non-Traveling Family Member is Sick
A common misconception is that travelers need to be sick themselves to cancel their trip. You may be eligible for cancellation coverage if your travel companion or family member such as a spouse, parent, child or grandparent has the flu.

    Too Sick to Continue
If you become so sick that you can’t carry on with your trip, you may be covered to return home early and be reimbursed for unused trip expenses, such as hotel stays, airfare, and excursions.

    Treatment While Abroad
While it may be well known that Medicare does not provide any coverage abroad, people may not realize that many domestic health insurance policies do not cover them abroad. Travel insurance is designed for this purpose and can pay back travelers for medical treatment while on vacation, including hospital stays, doctor visits, and prescription medication.

All travel insurance providers on Squaremouth.com offer 24 Hour Assistance Services to policyholders in the event of an emergency.

About Squaremouth: Squaremouth.com has insured over 3 million travelers. Using Squaremouth’s intuitive quoting and comparison engine, award-winning support team, and verified customer reviews, travelers can save time and money to find the best travel insurance policy for their trip.

The Boca Raton, South Florida’s iconic private club and resort, announces the debut of the reimagined Beach Club, with reservations available beginning December 2024. When the $120 million investment is complete, the luxury oceanfront escape will seamlessly connect to its golden beach backdrop through a stunning redesign and curated experiences. Resort guests and club members will set their own pace at Beach Club with new restaurants, a cocktail lounge and café, new fitness facility, dynamic oceanside event spaces, and a transformation of guest rooms and suites overlooking a half-mile stretch of private beach along the Atlantic Ocean.

“Beach Club has long been recognized as one of the most coveted beachside resort destinations in South Florida, and this evolution is poised to captivate a whole new category of discerning travelers while appealing to our legacy guests,” said Daniel A. Hostettler, President & CEO of The Boca Raton. “We are partnering with top designers and leading industry minds to create intriguing new offerings that will inspire. The new Beach Club will reflect the very best in design, dining, and experience—at the only beachfront resort in Boca Raton.”

Beach Club’s 210 spacious guest rooms and suites will showcase a spectacular design that blurs the lines between interiors and outdoors, complete with floor-to-ceiling ocean or Intracoastal views. The light-filled accommodations will embrace the sea breeze and natural textures, including honed marble and cerused woods complemented by vibrant coral velvet accents. Among the elevated in-room amenities, a wet bar with water filtration system will invite guests to stay hydrated on the go. Beach Club will triple its quantity of suites, including the Grand Suite + Lanai that features one- and two-bedroom options that flow into expansive outdoor poolside living spaces with lounge seating, granting guests easy access to the fresh salt air from their private patios.

    INSPIRED DINING
Beach Club will offer distinct oceanfront food and drink options.

The property’s beloved culinary destination, Marisol, will see a newly designed indoor-outdoor setting serving breakfast, lunch, and dinner just steps from the ocean. Fresh Mediterranean fare will appeal to the whole family. And after dinner, Marisol’s bar—a dramatic centerpiece of the restaurant’s design—will be a social hub to enjoy curated cocktails prepared with precision. Inspired by iconic coastal destinations, a new sand-side dining experience, Onda, will spotlight a new culinarian each winter season. In its opening season, guests at Onda will dine on classic island flavors.

Located just beyond Beach Club’s entrance, Living Room will feature world-class mixologists hand-crafting elegant evening aperitifs amid a mesmerizing atmosphere that begets intimate conversations. For a chance to sit back among the stars, an outdoor terrace overlooks the seascape. During daylight hours, guests will refresh and ruminate at Living Room’s café, a sunny space offering house-made pastries, light bites, and gourmet coffee.

The poolside White Bar is an open-air gathering spot with a relaxed atmosphere, featuring creative cocktails and an extensive wine list to be enjoyed while catching up with friends or catching the big game. Situated nearby, Ocean Market features quick gourmet bites and ice cream, allowing guests to return to their beach adventures without missing a beat.

    CURATED EXPERIENCES
Beach Club will offer an extensive selection of amenities and services rooted in the spirit of the coastal lifestyle. For a luxury experience with a touch of retro chic, Beach Club will be home to an exclusive VesBAR fleet, repurposed 1960s Vespas helmed by a cadre of skilled bartenders. The hotel’s distinct programming will celebrate intentional moments from day to night, including an immersive Ritual Series beginning with First Light oceanside wellness classes, a Sunset Ritual marking the evening transition with a signature soundtrack and artisanal aperitifs, and Night’s End, a special late-night wind down tradition.

When not relaxing on the hotel’s private beach or partaking in on-the-water adventures such as surfing and pedal kayaking, guests can swim or sunbathe at one of three pools or at Cabana Club, a collection of vibrant pool cabanas designed in partnership with St. Tropez swimwear brand Vilebrequin. Waterside adventures await the youngest guests and members at Banyan Bunch Beachside, a dedicated children’s program featuring fun amenities and educational activations designed around adventure, creation, discovery, and nature.

    A PLACE TO GATHER
The ultimate setting for unforgettable meetings, events, oceanside weddings and celebrations, Beach Club offers a variety of indoor and outdoor venues. Newly transformed spaces include the beachfront Surfside Lawn framed by swaying palm trees that can be open-air or tented, the expansive Atlantic Ballroom, and the scenic outdoor Coastal Patio, each offering an idyllic location for gatherings of all sizes.

In addition to experiences enjoyed at the Forbes Five-Star Beach Club, a stay provides access to The Boca Raton’s Harborside amenities. Just a five-minute Water Taxi across the Intracoastal, the resort offers golf, tennis, pickleball, wellness experiences at Spa Palmera, as well as three pools, water slides, a floating river, and more at Harborside Pool Club.

Beach Club is being brought to life by Urban Robot Associates, a design collective based in Miami Beach, as well as landscape architecture firm EDSA, and Garcia Stromberg—a firm of architects, designers, and artists. This marks the second phase of The Boca Raton’s overall $375 million transformation. The first phase was completed in early 2023, which redesigned Harborside’s offerings and amenities, including Tower hotel, more than 12 restaurants and lounges, the new four-acre Harborside Pool Club, and upgrades to the storied Cloister hotel. Visit TheBocaRaton.com and follow along on social media @TheBocaRaton.

    The Boca Raton
The Boca Raton originally opened in 1926 as The Ritz-Carlton Cloister Inn. In the 2020s, it celebrates its most remarkable evolution and its 100th anniversary. The Boca Raton’s culinary offerings showcase a world of flavor, with signature restaurants in partnership with Major Food Group. Resort amenities include a private beach, the Forbes Five-Star Spa Palmera, an 18-hole golf course, a full-service marina, Racquet Club with 14 tennis courts and 12 pickleball courts, retail shops, seven swimming pools, and various water activities at Harborside Pool Club, state-of-the-art fitness clubs and wellness collaborations. The multinational innovation company, which boasts over 1,000 projects in various stages of development across 60 countries, is now making waves in Europe with a new venture in Seville, Spain. This Mediterranean city, renowned for its charm and attractiveness, will soon embrace a Caribbean atmosphere thanks to Crystal Lagoons’ latest project.

The upcoming complex in Seville will feature a crystalline lagoon designed for swimming and water sports, accessible to all through ticketed entry. The development will also include residential units, a hotel, stores, restaurants, and a range of commercial and entertainment facilities, delivering the quintessential PAL® experience.

Crystal Lagoons’ expansion in Europe is notable, with its presence in Spain, Italy, France, the Czech Republic, Poland, Romania, and Hungary, and ongoing projects in Murcia and the Costa del Sol. The Seville development is part of a series of European projects in collaboration with the award-winning Romanian firm Forty Management, including the recently successful Lagoon Park Bucharest.

“Seville boasts one of the best climates in Europe, allowing for year-round enjoyment of this PAL® project. It will enhance the city’s status as a top tourist destination and set a new standard of entertainment for millions of residents and visitors alike,” said Jean Pierre Juanchich, Global Business Director of Crystal Lagoons.

PAL® projects are recognized for their environmental benefits, potentially reducing the equivalent of 40% of the carbon footprint in the tourism and transportation sectors by offering beach experiences with turquoise waters and white sands close to home, thereby minimizing long-distance travel.
